Tamer believes that curiosity and willingness to help is the formula for success. With over 10 years of professional experience across various industries, Tamer holds a Bachelor of Science degree and an MBA from McMaster University. Using his business experience and desire to help, Tamer supported a Business Development function and successfully coordinated over 50 initiatives and actively generated over $5 million in CCO funding through project grants and sponsorships. Tamer’s passion for health and technology drives him to push the boundaries of possibilities in the Ontario health care space.

Excited to hear from Noemi Chanda, BA, MA, JD, a Manager in the Data Protection and Privacy practice at Deloitte. She provides privacy advisory services for clients leveraging innovative technology, and recently helped to develop a report on the privacy implications of connected and autonomous vehicles in Ontario. Noemi works closely with privacy teams across healthcare, retail, and technology sectors to develop risk-intelligent privacy programs – bringing privacy to the table in conversations around data analytics and embedding privacy into the software development life cycle. Noemi holds a BA from the University of Waterloo, a Master’s in Economic Policy from McMaster University, and a law degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. She is licensed to practice law in Ontario.
Very excited to hear from Nicole Magda, a Senior Consultant in Deloitte’s Public Sector Transformation Practice. As a Registered Nurse, Nicole combines her frontline clinical and administrative experience to support clients achieve their transformation goals particularly across the areas of clinical services planning; strategic planning; operations and capital redevelopment. Nicole’s experience includes working with hospitals and health information technology companies to transform the delivery of clinical services and improve patient outcomes. During her tenure at Deloitte, she has worked to support clients with clinical services plans, clinical transformation planning, facilitation of clinical working groups, the incorporation of digital healthcare innovation in future state planning, content development for health information technology and stakeholder engagement. Before her time at Deloitte, she supplemented her clinical work in the psychiatry emergency service at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto to support the hospital’s capital redevelopment project. Nicole holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Healthcare Quality from Queen’s University.

Thrilled to hear from Gavin Tong, an industry leader in the successful application of IT to improve the lives of patients and the healthcare system overall. He has 13 years of health informatics experience focusing primarily on working with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to plan, design and adopt IT systems, including the creation of electronic health information exchange standards. Gavin applies best practices from PROSCI, PMBOK, solution development lifecycles, and ITIL to help clients properly plan and manage their IT implementations. Gavin has also worked with clinicians to develop numerous national and international standards, including working with the Ontario Chiropractic Association and others on the National eClaims Standard (NeCST). Sandra Sabaratnam brings more than six years of business analysis and project management experience within the healthcare industry, with two years of experience both pharmacy and public health domains. She has worked with both provincial and federal organizations across Canada to improve health services and information through information technology. Sandra is an analytical and solution-oriented team player who has a passion for transforming healthcare using information management and information technology as solutions. Some of Sandra’s achievements include: Led the engagement of all diagnostic imaging (DI) stakeholders in a health region to conduct a current state and develop a vision on the future referral process for DI using an electronic solution; Managed and coordinated the pharmacy practice management systems and electronic medical record integration to the provincial drug information system (DIS) via CeRx messaging; Developed and implemented the processes to identify and resolve data quality issues for the DIS; Developed business cases and budgets for large-scale initiatives to support executive approvals; Facilitated business process redesign workshops and documented workflow diagrams, use cases and system requirements; Analyzed and revised service desk knowledge documentation based on LEAN principles; Drafted the RFP and participated in reviews of RFP responses for branding and communications services; Drafted and implemented the change management plan to roll-out a public health system across the province. Sandra has a B.Sc. in Health Studies, Health Informatics option from the University of Waterloo. She also obtained her ITIL Intermediate Certification (Service Strategy) in 2015, COACH / HIMSS CPHIMS-CA certificate in 2014, IIBA CBAP certificate in 2012 and the PMI CAPM certificate in 2011.

Excited to hear from Lauren Bell is a health informatics professional by training with diverse public healthcare experience spanning strategy, planning and program delivery. She holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences from Western University and a Master of Health Informatics from the University of Toronto. Her professional roles span prior positions with St. Michael’s Hospital, University Health Network, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and Health Quality Ontario. Currently, she is the Manager of Innovation & Strategic Partnerships at Plexxus where she is working to support Plexxus hospitals in the move to value-based healthcare through innovation and value-based procurement activities. Lauren is a past recipient of the COACH Emerging Leader in Health Informatics Award and the University of Toronto’s IHPME Louise Lemieux Charles Award for Emerging Health Leaders.

David Denov is a Director in PwC’s Health Services Consulting Practice, and brings a deep understanding of how technology changes have impacted the healthcare system, how technology is managed inside healthcare organizations and how to manage deployment within a healthcare setting. David has worked for hospitals, consulting, and vendor groups focusing on strategic planning, enterprise architecture, mHealth, information management, business intelligence and big data, data governance, methodology/process documentation and development, project management, team and staff management, and has overseen numerous successful large scale technology assessments, environmental scans and technology implementations. David is passionate about the intersection of digital technologies (web, mobile, cloud) and health care: specifically how these technologies can be used to improve patient and provider experience while reducing costs in the Health Care industry.

His experiences at PwC include working on a feasibility study for a national chronic disease platform, re-imagining and modernizing the patient experience for a telehealth provider and enabling digital transformations through the development of cybersecurity strategies.

Afsha Rizvi has a background in clinical trials, recruitment, and subject management in the pharmaceutical industry in addition to consumer relations experience with multinational corporations.
Julia Roy has focused her time on the convergence between health transformation, digital health and health analytics. She is driven to explore opportunities for improved population health outcomes through digital health and health analytics, and to find the niche for emerging technologies within our current marketplace. She has over eight years of experience working within organizations both nationally and internationally in roles spanning investment banking, international development, healthcare and technology startups.
